Outdoor Seating

There are so many ways that we use our garden areas, and if you plan to do more than just admire the beauty outside from a window, you'll need some kind of seating.

When purchasing any kind of furniture for your outside areas, there are a few things to consider. When you're ready to shop, you'll find a vast selection of styles, sizes, and materials to choose from.

Determine the Kind of Outdoor Seating you Need

If you want to spend a few minutes among the flowers and enjoy the fragrance of your garden, or take a break from garden chores, an iron or wooden bench, tucked into the setting may be all you need.

Add a soft cushion for addition comfort. If you want to stretch out and really relax, perhaps a lounge chair would work better.

And if you have a front porch, there's nothing more welcoming and relaxing than a rocker or two. For that first cup of coffee or tea on the porch, a compact bistro set provides a casual and private place.

And for entertaining groups, tables are available that can accommodate up to ten people comfortably.

Chairs come in a variety of styles and coordinate beautifully. Matching or coordinating umbrellas provide needed shade in a sunny yard. For family meals, perhaps a casual picnic table is the way to go.

Decide Where to Place your Outdoor Seating

It's important to know where your selections are going to be situated. For a patio, deck or gazebo, consider the space needed around chairs and tables to comfortably move them to sit.

In a large open space, you may want to place groups of seating rather than a large table.

When you entertain, do you lean toward a sit-down dinner, or is a buffet more your style? One large table with pairs of mixed or matched chairs may work better for groups to congregate.

Select the Best Materials for your Needs

There are many options when it comes to choosing the type of furniture to use outdoors.

While some people love the weight and ease of care that aluminum furniture offers, nothing compares to the beautiful aging of teak wood.

Oak, pine and cedar also age beautifully and fit naturally into an outdoor setting.

Wicker is lightweight and sturdy, and woven synthetic wicker is weather resistant.

Wrought iron requires some maintenance to prevent rusting, but its style lends an air of formality to your outdoor setting.

Textilene seats offer clean style and easy maintenance. Cushions can be added to outdoor seating to make it more comfortable and to add color to the décor.

Garden Oasis outdoor furniture offers the functionality and style that suit any budget and lets you create a garden oasis in your own backyard.
