There are many plants available for your garden. Finding the perfect plants for your garden depends on where you live, your taste and your garden plans.

Below are the list of plant names from A to Z and the descriptions for each plant.

Plant Names A-E


Akebia Quinata
Akebia Quinata has several common names including the Five Leafed Akebia and the Chocolate Vine. The plant is native to Korea, Japan and Central China where it is grown either as a twining vine, a low-growing shrub or a groundcover.

Aloe Vera Plant
The Aloe Vera plant adds texture, height and a unique structure to a collection of houseplants. Once a staple medicinal plant, it enjoys a place of prominence in many homes.

Bamboo Plants
There are a number of varieties of bamboo plants for the home landscape. Choosing the best for your garden will depend on the location you select for planting.

Banana Plant

The true citronella plant is a perennial clumping grass that can grow to six feet in height. It bears gray-green blades on stems that resemble canes.

Corn Plant
The Dracaena fragrans, or corn plant, is one of the many tropical houseplants from the dracena family known for their dramatic form. This large plant has leaves that resemble the leaves on a cornstalk, with a creamy yellow stripe down the center and green stripes down the borders.

Cotton Plant
The cotton plant is a tropical perennial shrub, a member of the Gossypium genus and Malvaceae family. Its fibers are used in the making of textiles and cloth.

Elephant Ear Plant
Elephant ear plant is a member of the Caladium family. With leaves as big as an elephant's ear, this tropical plant has become a favorite garden plant.

Green Tea Plants
Green tea plants are beautiful plants to add to your garden beds or containers. The added health benefits provided by the antioxidant properties of the tea make it that much more appealing to the home gardener and tea drinker.

Hoya Plant
The Hoya plant, hoya carnosa, also called the wax plant, is a vining houseplant with thick, leathery leaves and clusters of star-shaped, scented, hanging flowers.

Ivy Plants
The family of ivy (Hedera) encompasses a wide array of plants, from potted hanging plants to topiary, and as outdoor groundcovers and climbing vines. Their various growing habits make ivy plants a popular choice for a number of uses.

This licorice plant is an attractive and unique plant for container and landscape gardening. It fills in quickly, adding a distinctive silvery hue to the garden.

Licorice Plant(Glycyrrhiza Glabra)
Glycyrrhiza glabra, the licorice plant, is a perennial legume native to southern Europe and parts of Asia. The root of the plant provides the popular sweet licorice flavoring through a process of boiling and evaporating water.

Lucky Bamboo Plant
Although it is called a bamboo plant, the lucky bamboo plant is not actually a bamboo, but the Dracaena sanderia. A tropical plant is almost indestructible, the plant is a popular, easy-care plant found in offices and homes.

Money Tree Plant
Money tree plant is a native of South America where it thrives in the wetlands. The palmate leaves have five lobes and resemble a hand. It can grow to over six feet tall and three feet wide.

Mosquito Plant
A summer without mosquito bites – what a treat that would be. Pelargonium Citrosa or Citrosa Geranium, generally known as the Mosquito Plant, is hybridized from the Chinese Citronella Grass and African Geranium plants.

Oleander Plant
The Oleander plant is a fast growing, perennial, evergreen tree or shrub, reaching maturity in about 20 years with a maximum height of 12 feet.

Pepper Plants
Pepper plants offer so much variety in flavor and appearance that it is easy to see why they are such a popular garden and houseplant.

Pineapple Plant
The pineapple plant can be a unique addition to a collection of houseplants. And if you have the patience, it can produce a sweet and delicious fruit and additional plants in time.

Prayer Plant
The Prayer Plant, maranta leuconeura, gets its common name from the habit of folding its leaves up at night, resembling hands in prayer.

Raspberry Plants
